Boyd; Douglas Arthur
1943 – 2022
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Douglas Arthur Boyd in his 80th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Gwen Boyd (nee Higginson). Proud father of Brian Douglas Boyd of Orillia and Paul William Boyd of Dundas. Devoted grandfather of Noah (fiancée Rebecca), Lucas both of Dundas and Emily of Orillia. Sadly missed by his special pets Maggie, Ozzie, Cleo, Kaidta and Stella. Dear brother of Charles (Gail predeceased) of Orillia, Shirley Kearney (Jack) of Severn, Peter (Marie predeceased) of Orillia and Don (Bette) of Coldwater. Loved brother-in-law of Cecil (predeceased) (Alice) of Port Elgin, Kathleen(predeceased), Ivor (Dianne) of California, Winston (Cathy) (both predeceased), Monty (Hazel) of London, Bill (Gail) of Coldwater, Philip (Mary) also of Coldwater and Pat Collins (John predeceased) of BC. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews of Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and USA. The family would like to extend their respect and appreciation to the Orillia Fire Dept., Paramedics, OPP and the staff of Mundell’s for their assistance, professionalism, sincerity and service. A private family graveside service will be held at St. Andrew’s – St. James’ Cemetery, Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the Mundell Funeral Home.
