Obituary
Dorothy passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 7th, 2022 at the Riverview Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 80.
She was predeceased by her loving Husband of 51 years Bill Prochuk, her Parents ( John and Tina Louchuk ), In-laws ( William and Anne Prochuk ), Son-in-law ( Jason Wilkinson ), and cherished Friend ( Diane Wachniak ).
Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her three Daughters Brenda, Wendy ( Dave Cymbalisty ), and Barbara. Her three Grandsons Pearce ( Kristy ), Reece, and Quinn Cymbalisty and Great Grandsons Oakes and Tripp Cymbalisty all of Calgary Alberta.
Also mourning the loss of Dorothy is her Brother John and Patt Louchuk ( Sonya and John) of Richer Manitoba, Brother in law Al and Heather Prochuk ( Alana) of Vancouver British Columbia, cherished Friend Peter Wachniak and countless other special friends and neighbours. Dorothy enjoyed volunteering her time to the community and was a member of the Transcona Seniors Council and the Moving Forth Group. She had many interests and hobbies including gardening and was an active member of the Transcona Garden Club. Dorothy also participated in flower arranging and painting classes.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the compassionate care that Dorothy received from the staff at the Palliative Care Units of both St. Boniface and Riverview Hospitals. We also wish to acknowledge the kind care provided to her during her illness at home by numerous Health Care Aides.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Dorothy’s honour.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of your choosing.
