Doris Marie Louise Staflund

It is with great sadness that the family of Doris Staflund announce her sudden passing on October 13, 2022 in Saskatoon, SK.
Doris was born on April 8, 1945 in Prince Albert, SK to Wilfred and Claire Samson. She grew up on a farm close to Leoville, SK. She attended high school in Leoville, graduating in 1962. Doris continued her education from 1962-1965 at the Holy Family School of Nursing. Her career as a registered nurse continued for over 50 years until the day of her passing. Doris worked in various hospitals throughout Saskatchewan. She spent 25 years in northern Saskatchewan working with the First Nations people. She spent the last 8 years working at the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary infirmary.
On July 11, 1966, she married Albert Staflund and together they raised three children, Darryl, Jeff and Kim. Sadly, Albert passed away in October 1993. Doris was an active member at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Parish since 2006. Doris spent her spare time reading, listening to music and going for walks.
Doris is survived by her children: Darryl of Edmonton, AB, Jeff of Winnipeg, MB, Kim of Calgary, AB; grandson, Kevin of Calgary, AB; brother, Edward of Leoville, SK; special friend, Don of Prince Albert, SK; and numerous relatives and friends.
Doris was predeceased by her husband, Albert; parents Wilfred and Claire (nee Vien) Samson and other family members.
Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022, at St. Michael Parish, 1505 13 Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will be held at a later date. Donations in the memory of Doris may be made to the St. Michael’s Parish, 1505 13 Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 3J7. Services will be live streamed and videotaped.
