Doris Edna Wells
1927-2022
Doris Edna Wells, 94, of Hopewell
Hill, passed away peacefully on January 24th, 2022, with her loving
family by her side.
Doris was born on May 28th, 1927 the
daughter of the late Clarence and Evelyn (Steeves)
Woodworth.
They say “Home is where your
heart is ” and Doris was an example of this saying having made a
home full of love for her family and that’s where she wanted
to be. She was a homemaker and her family was her priority in life.
She felt blessed to have lived in the home where she was born for 94
years, where generations of family memories were made. She was a
faithful member of Trinity United Church, Hopewell Hill, where she was
the organist for 66 years, and was always willing to lend a hand there
whenever needed. She recently attended the Hillsborough United Church
and was thankful for all the prayers and support she received there.
Doris was a no fuss kind of woman and was happiest when the focus was
off of her and she was doing things for others. She was a devoted
wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great
grandmother, there was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family. Doris
always took the time to talk about what was happening in their lives
and make each one feel special, she was proud of all their
accomplishments. Doris was very grateful for the wonderful gift her
children and her personal support workers, Susan, Beverly, and Myrna,
gave to her by allowing her to remain in the comfort of her own home
with her cat, which was her constant companion. We will miss her, but
take comfort in the fact she is now with her Lord and Saviour. She
will be remembered for her strength, quick wit, and dedication to all
those around her.
“I loved to come to visit,
spending time with you, it never even mattered just what we chose to
do, for love was all around us and warmth was everywhere and every
moment spent with you I felt your loving care.”
She will be deeply missed by her three
children, Ralph Wells (Sharon), Gerald Wells (Marilyn), and Janet Hoar
(Sheldon) all of Hopewell Hill; treasured grandchildren, Veronica,
Melissa, Leslie (Casey), John, Dennis, Daniel (Holly); cherished great
grandchildren, Danielle (Matt), Nadia, Christopher, Isabella, and
Jack; precious great great grandson Liam. She will also be missed by
her close cousin, Hugh Woodworth (Frances) of Hopewell Hill, NB, who
joined her family at a young age, and by all her extended
family.
Besides her parents she was
predeceased by her husband Maxwell Wells.
The family will be having a private
funeral service. Interment will be held at the Hopewell Cemetery,
Hopewell Hill, NB at a later date.
For those who wish, donations in
memory of Doris to the Hillsborough United Church or the Hopewell
Cemetery would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements are in the care of the
