Doreen Mae (Nelson) Strohschein
March 21, 1932 – October 24, 2022
Doreen Mae (Nelson) Strohschein, the wife of the late Gordon Strohschein (1989), passed away peacefully at the Wetaskiwin Hospital on October 24th, 2022, at the age of 90 years. Doreen, daughter of the late Henry and Minnie (Bergquist) Nelson was born on March 21st, 1932, in Wetaskiwin. She married Gordon on February 27th, 1952. Together they raised a family, ran a farm and were well-respected dairy producers. They were faithful members of Calvary Baptist Church and served for many years.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Bruce) Gair, Joyce (Gilbert) Breitkreuz, Margo (Warren) Ziolkowski, Earl (Sharon) Strohschein, and Chad (Heidi) Strohschein; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister Donna (Don) McLeod; sister-in-law Gladys (Leroy) Dickau; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on November 5th, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church, Wetaskiwin.
The interment will take place at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials are gratefully accepted by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
