Doreen Helen Burgess
BURGESS, Doreen, “Grandma Red”, age 97 passed away Saturday, September 10 with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. Doreen worked 25 years at the Hudson Bay Company as a switch board operator all while raising two daughters on her own. She retired at her cabin at Candle Lake right beside her dearest friend Shirley and where her family would join her often for family gatherings. Doreen was always the life of the party, she was the last one dancing at her granddaughters wedding, the first one we dressed up for themed family reunions and the grandma who would teach all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren new card games. Doreen is finally reunited with her daughter Rennie and great granddaughter Hope. Here to miss and love her is her daughter Shelley (Larry) and their daughters Candace and Danielle, Rennie (Barry) Wruck’s children Kim Wruck (Chris Tulloch), Trent (Lisa) Wruck and their three children Ashley, Matthew and Hannah, Jamie (Aimes) McCarthy and their two boys Ryle and Zander. Grandma Red will be dearly missed but knowing she is at peace makes it just a little easier. Holidays, birthdays and family gatherings will not be the same without her. We would like to thank the entire staff at Spruce Manor in Dalmeny for the beautiful care they gave our Grandma. Until we meet again.
Cherished Memories Funeral Services & Crematory is honoured to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Burgess.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Doreen Helen Burgess 2022..
