In loving in memory of Doreen Elizabeth Mills (nee Walker) 86 years. Passed away at Extendicare York on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022.
Beloved wife of James Alexander Mills predeceased in 2012. Mother of Kim Boaro (John), Orb Bohn Wilkes, and James Mills. Grandmother of Melanie (Timothy), Beau (Alan), Jessica, and Kristopher, and great grandmother of McKenzie and Saphira. Predeceased by her parents Don and Dora Walker (nee Collins). Sister of Larry (Geanna), and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Doreen was born on July 19th, 1936, and grew up and lived in Sandy Cove, Nova Scotia and worked as a telephone operator in Annapolis Royal. She married Jim, and they eventually moved their family to Sudbury where she worked at Cambrian College, before moving onto Fred’s Delicatessen where she worked for many years.
The family would like to thank her roommate at Extendicare York, Linda, for making Doreen’s days comfortable and filled with laughter.
There will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with burial alongside her parents in Sandy Cove at a later date. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home.
