Obituary
Donna Merkley (nee Jordan) passed away June 7, 2022, in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 88 years. Donna was born on November 12, 1933, in Viceroy, Saskatchewan, where she attended grade school and then moved with her previous husband to Alberta. Donna lived in various places around the province before settling in Red Deer, Alberta, where she worked at The Windsor Hotel for many years before retiring as a housekeeper from the Red Deer Hospital. In recent years Donna moved to High River, Alberta to be close to her daughter and spent most of her time relaxing and knitting.
Donna is survived by her children, Rob Cotter (Lorrie), Brad Cotter (Nellie) and Barb Cox; her Grandchildren Derek Cotter (Amie), Austyn Chantler, Colton Cox (Shellayna), Logan Cox (Shaelyn), Megan Newman (Tom) and Courtney Cox; her Great-Grandchildren Brinley Cotter, Cohen Cotter, Lydia Cox, Murria Cox, Cady Newman and Nolan Newman.
Donna is predeceased by her late husband Archie Merkley, her parents William and Jane Jordan, many siblings and son-in-law Murray Cox.
There will be no service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
