Obituary of Donald Morgan Giles
October 15, 1940 – October 18, 2022. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald. Born in Newfoundland, this Ramea Puffin was the son of the late John and Gertrude (Scott) Giles. Don suffered many struggles throughout his entire life. It was a good thing that Don was stubborn because that is what kept him going all these years. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Rudolph (William), nieces, Naomi Rudolph (Jason), Halifax, and Joanne Roach (Jason), PEI, sister-in-law, Joan Savident, as well as several great nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 52 years, Anna (Savident), and brothers and sisters in infancy. Many thanks go out to Don’s special friends, especially Ernie MacLellan, the VON, and Closing the Gap, who all made it possible for Don to live in his own home right to the end.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 2 PM from J. Albert Walker Funeral Home Chapel, 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, with interment in Emmanuel Anglican Church Cemetery to follow. Donations in memory of Don may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
