Dianne Collins
1940-2022
Collins, Dianne (nee
Hodder)
Dianne Collins
(Hodder), 82, of Guelph, passed away peacefully in the hands of loved
ones on November 30th., 2022. Born on April 27,1940 to
Stanley and Margaret Hodder in Abersychan, Wales. After graduation,
Dianne worked as a nurse in London, England, until a fateful trip to
Canada in 1969 that would result in her greatest accomplishments in
life. Orphaned as a young girl and raised by her grandmother, Dianne
would demonstrate her fierce independence time and time again as she
started a family in Canada and never looked
back.
In 1969, she met
Desmond Collins and within a year they were married. She was a
wonderful and caring mother who supported her children; Andrew, Robin
(Meghan Kirwin) and Leanne (Son Tran) during every step of their
lives. “Nana” was also a proud and loving
grandmother to Rhys, Zachary, Addison and Fiona. Instrumental in the
upbringing of her grandchildren, Nana was loved and revered for her
generosity of spirit, genuine ability to be grateful for her lot in
life, and, of course, that Nana humour: she could lighten the mood
with an expertly-timed comment or joke. We will all miss
Dianne/Mom/Nana greatly but will remember her forever and keep with us
her enduring spirit. Iechyd da Nana!
