After a lengthy illness, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of DENNIS WAYNE PIDHIRNEY at Pinawa Hospital on March 22, 2022 at the age of 76.
He will be remembered by his wife of 31 years, Betty; daughters Tamara Dyck (Ed) and Shannon Pidhirney; Grandchildren Steven, Stephanie, and Chris; 3 great grandchildren as well as Betty’s children and grandchildren.
Dennis lived in Transcona for many years. He worked at many jobs finally settling at Wyatt Rentals where he became shop manager, staying for 20 years. In 1990 he followed Betty to Calgary where they decided to get married. Dennis worked for Christian Electric in Calgary where he built up a business for repairing welders. With the increase in drilling in northern Alberta at the time he was very successful.
In 2000 Dennis and Betty retired and decided to come back to Manitoba where they settled in Lac du Bonnet. Dennis enjoyed his fishing and curling. He especially loved teaching the junior level of curling for the boys and girls in Lac du Bonnet. He spent many hours in his garage fixing anything and everything that was either electrical or mechanical.
In keeping with Dennis’ wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pinawa Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness during his final days.
