Obituary of Denise Marie Esopenko
DENISE MARIE ESOPENKO
November 12, 1930 to March 12, 2022
Mrs. Denise Esopenko of Prince Albert, Sask., and formerly of Strong Pine District passed away peacefully in the Herb Bassett Nursing Home on March 12, 2022 at 6:50 a.m. and at age 91 she fell asleep in Jesus, soon to be awakened at the trumpet of Jesus’ Second Coming.
She was born on November 12, 1930 on the family farm approximately nine miles from Kenaston, Sask. She grew up there and met and married Frank Schmidt with whom she had three children: Linda, Darlene and Edward. She continued her journey alone with her children and moved to Prince Albert. She found employment at the Metropolitan Store while her children were placed in care of St. Patrick’s Orphanage for 4 years. In a few years time she met William Esopenko and moved with him to the farm in Strong Pine along with her children. Their union blessed them with another daughter, Sharon. She spent many busy years on the mixed farm raising her family, working alongside William. She worked hard in her garden and provided many great meals to those who came through her door. Denise and William married “officially” January 27, 1980 with their family witnessing the happy occasion. The years passed by and when they finally decided to retire they moved into Prince Albert where they resided for about 18 years. Denise then moved into the nursing home, with William following shortly thereafter, where she received excellent loving care until her passing.
Denise had such a generous and loving heart. She provided many meals as the family grew and she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. She loved having company visit her at the nursing home and those that were able to gladly did so. Denise was a faithful member of Prince Albert Seventh Day Adventist church since 1980.
