Dell’s Obituary
Dell Richard Spencer peacefully passed at the Upper River Valley Hospital on June 9, 2022, with his loving family at his side. Dell was born on November 4, 1931, in Parker’s Ridge NB the cherished son of Stuart (Ted) and Ada (Calhoun) Spencer. Beloved husband of Elizabeth Mary (Hunter) Spencer for 70 years. Dell was a devoted father to his son Larry Graham Spencer (Rosalyn) who predeceased him on August 15, 2015, his son Kirk Stuart Spencer (Tammy), and his daughter Delight Elizabeth Ross.
Dell was a loving grandfather (pup) to his grandsons Richard Graham Spencer, Benjamin Jeffery Hunter Williams his granddaughters Anita Lauren Spencer, Amber Elizabeth Dawn Spencer, Dedreanna Delight Elizabeth Dionne, and his great-grandchildren Emma Kimberly Spencer and Mason Eric Hunter Drost.
He is survived by his sisters Gracie Green, and Dixie Foulkins (Lawrence) his brothers Vaughn Spencer (Valerie), Terry Spencer (Ethel), and Leroy Spencer (Joyce).Along with several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his sisters Jacquetta Fowler and Betty Black his brothers Blaine Spencer, Calvin Spencer, Reg Spencer, Bertie Spencer, and infant brother Eugene Spencer.
Dell was a salesman for Coke A Cola for 27 years in Peterborough Ontario before returning to his roots where he built a log cabin-style country store and a hunting and fishing lodge on the banks of the Miramichi River. Dell was at his happiest in the woods walking over moss-covered rocks in the cool shadow of the forest where the air smelled of pine and wildflowers and by the river casting a line into the current watching the sun rise over the water…
Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB
A private remembrance will be held at Scott’s Funeral Home at 1 pm on Sunday, June 12 followed by graveside prayers at Woodstock Rural Cemetery, Houlton Road Woodstock NB.
