Delaney Callissa Coral Perreault 2022

Delaney was suddenly taken from us on Monday, August 15, 2022 at the age of 24. She will be dearly missed by her parents, Coral and Ellis Bottle; brother Ellis Perreault; grandparents Margaret and Francis Choken, Lynda Bottle; aunts and uncles Jackie, Kenny, Shirley, Crystal (Rene), Elvis (Shannon), Aaron (Catalina), Jessica (Devon), Hans, Patrick, Vida, Diane (Bryan), Thomas; and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her aunt Trixie Bottle, grandfather Hans Sharpe, and cousins Juanita Perreault and Dylan Bottle.
Delaney Callissa Coral Perreault was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She was born on June 20, 1998 to parents Coral and Ellis Bottle and little sitter to Ellis-J. She was a member of the Lac Seul First Nation in Ontario. Delaney was a sweet and helpful young woman and was known for her pride in her culture and helping others.
She joined ringette at the age of eight years old and played into her adult years. Delaney and her team won two city champs, two years in a row. She played hockey in junior high for two years. At eleven years old, she begged for a cat and won the request. Mittens joined the family in August 2009. Even though he’s thirteen years old now, she still lovingly called him “just a baby”.
She graduated Grade 12 in 2016. After high school, Delaney worked in administration where she excelled and quickly promoted to management level at twenty years old. She was a hard worker. Delaney was always taking chances and liked challenging herself, like switching careers and went into the trades’ field as an Iron Worker and Boiler Maker.
Delaney was called “Nanes or Little Nanes” by family and friends. She was artistic especially with her makeup, which she loved. Delaney enjoyed following her cultural ways and beliefs. She participated in the Sundance ceremony and earned sacred rattle which was the beginning of earning a sacred bundle. She respected and followed the Seven Sacred Laws. Delaney was learning the Ojibway language with her grandpa – she was always practicing the language on road trips with the family. Everyone who met and got to know Delaney loved her free spirit. Her wandering spirit didn’t wait for anyone. If she wanted to do or see things, she would go, even on her own.
She volunteered with the “Crazy Indian Brotherhood”, Feed the People Initiative at the Calgary Drop-In Centre, and for the Women In Need Society. Delaney was very respectful and supportive of all worldly cultural events. She was a facilitator at Woman Warrior now known as Wolf Trails for Indigenous Women (a workout group) which was an Indigenous based holistic health group that offers free fitness classes and nutrition education for women.
Delaney will always be remembered for her gifts she openly shared with others, especially her gifts of kindness, friendship, and love.
