Dean was a kind, loving and gentle man who passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Health Centre, Barrie on Friday, September 23, 2022 in his 89th year.
He was born in Newmarket to parents; Ivan Ross Nelson and Barbara (nee Forester) the youngest of three, brothers; Murray and Don (deceased) and his sister Linda.
Later in Dean’s life during a successful career with the Globe and Mail in Toronto, he raised his family with his wife Dorothy (predeceased) in Agincourt. Shortly after retirement, Dean moved to Huntsville where he met Audrey and they were married in 2007.
He is survived by his wife Audrey, children Karen and Dennis (Sandy), John (Gudrun), Bev (Katie), and grandchildren: Cliff, Jon (Mindy), Alissa (Scott) and Kim (Corey).
Dean had a green thumb. He loved toiling in his gardens as well golf, extended times in Florida and of course, happy hour with family and friends. He was a quiet man!
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, would be appreciated by the family.
