The passing of Dawn
Marie Gertrude Dunphy occurred on Tuesday March 15, 2022, at Neill
Hall Shannex, Fredericton. Born on March 10, 1939, in
Jewett’s Mills, NB, she was the daughter of the late Leigh
and Marie (Carlisle)
Dunphy.
Following high
school, Dawn attended Acadia University and then completed the Medical
Laboratory Technologist training at Saint John Regional Hospital. She
moved to Vancouver in 1964 to pursue a successful career and retired
from Nanaimo Regional Hospital. Dawn loved her cats and dogs,
travelling, many outdoor activities (hiking, biking, kayaking, skiing)
and volunteering at the kennel club. Dawn moved back to NB in
2019.
Dawn is survived by
her brother, Jack (Mildred) Dunphy, nieces, Anne Dunphy, Jane (David)
Rioux and Nancy (Darryl) Esau and great niece and nephews, Elizabeth,
Peter, Matthew, and Lincoln. Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by sister, Marina (Vernon) Goodine. She leaves behind cousins and
friends as well. The family would like to thank the staff at Neill
Hall who cared for
Dawn.
A family graveside
service will be held at a later date at the Dunphy Cemetery in Island
View, NB. Donations may be made to the Dunphy Cemetery, Canadian Red
Cross or a charity of the donor’s
choice.
Bishop’s
Funeral Home & Crematorium 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton have
been entrusted with the arrangements.
