Obituary of DAVID JOHN MOWAT
DAVID JOHN MOWAT
January 15, 1951-October 17, 2022
It’s with great sadness & broken hearts our strong-willed dad, papa, brother, brother-in-law and good friend is now reunited with the love of his life Vicky.
He leaves behind his 2 daughters Melanie (Henry), Tracy (Dallas) and the pride and joy of his life his 4 grandchildren Donavon, Alyssa, Dallas Jr and Kayden. As well as his 2 sisters, 3 brothers, sister/brother in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews and along with many great friends.
He was the PROUDEST PAPA of all 4 of his grandchildren and they knew how much they meant to him. He was very proud to carry on his father’s traditional hand shake of TTFN with all his grandkids. Dad was predeceased by his wife Vicky, his parents, family members and good friends.
Dad was born on January 15,1951 in Winnipeg and grew up in the North End. He met Vicky and they were high school sweethearts. Dad had a lucky hand at keno, a passion for selling coffee, recently selling his business and was looking forward to retirement. Dad loved spending time with his family, especially watching the grandchildren in all their sports. Papa was their biggest fan, cheering loud from the stands.
We want to thank the medical staff at Health Sciences Centre Cancer Care for all their love, compassion and care over the last weeks.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Dave’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba or Kids Sports.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 26 at 6:00 p.m.at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St, Winnipeg, MB.
In honor of Dave, we would like you to join us in wearing plaid to his service.
