Obituary
David Harvey “Digger” Degerness passed away unexpectedly in Salmon Arm, B.C. on Monday, May 2nd, 2022, at the age of 68 years. A Celebration of Life Service for Digger will be held at the Revelstoke Community Centre on Friday afternoon, May 20th, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #46, P.O. Box 2370, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Dave.
Dave was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan on March 4, 1954, and was a long-time resident of Revelstoke, before moving to Blind Bay 11 months ago to experience retirement with Kelly. Dave adored all his grandchildren and the time he spent with each of them was very precious to him. He enjoyed camping, fishing, brewing beer, making wine, Saturday Meat Draws at the Legion, and tinkering in his shop. Dave was a member of the Revelstoke ATV Club and the Royal Canadian Legion, Revelstoke Branch.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Harvey (Joan) Degerness and Marge (Frank) Holjevac; father-in-law Jack Ward and his brother Frankie Holjevac. He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly of Blind Bay; two children: Melanie (Kenny) Kolwes of Sorrento and Stephen (Monica) Degerness of Coldstream; his four grandchildren: Riley, Stephanie, Parker and Ellory; siblings: Betty (Richard) Jones, George (Connie) Degerness, Suann (Barry) Wolf, Rick (Tanya) Degerness and Lana Degerness (Terance Dansereau); mother-in-law Maggie Ward; in-laws: Melinda (Mike) Boruch, Art (Kathy) Ward, Pat (Mae) Ward and Margaret Ward; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved four-legged friend Roscoe.
