Obituary
Darryl Frederick Bartley
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Darryl Frederick Bartley, on March 5, 2022. Darryl was born in Thompson, Manitoba on August 4, 1965.
Darryl is survived by his son Jordan; sister Kim (Derek); niece Brandi (Kenneth); nephews James (Richelle), John (Ariana), Stratton and Mason. Darryl was predeceased by his parents Jim and Velma and his brother Jimmy.
Darryl had many jobs in his younger years but most people knew him as the owner/operator of Central Septic in East Selkirk. Darryl was very hard working and would do anything to help out a family member or friend. Many of Darryl’s closest friends were lifelong from his early school days at Happy Though School. Darryl had a nick name for almost everyone he knew. If you were close to Darryl, he never called you by your name. These nicknames were often funny and unique and sometimes a bit insulting, but he meant well.
Darryl loved the outdoors and many years of fond memories were made at the family cabin and trapline in the Whiteshell. Darryl and Jimmy spent most of their childhood hunting, trapping and fishing with dad and uncle Harvey as well as many family friends, too many to mention. Darryl was a talented story teller, and he kept the memories of many friends and relatives alive through his stories and memories, most of which were very humourous. He loved old things, as well as war memorabilia from our father who served in WWII.
Cremation will take place and a private family interment will take place in the spring.
Flowers are gratefully declined. If anyone wishes they may made a donation to an animal or wildlife charity, or the charity of your choice.
