DARROCH, Hector Robert
May 30, 1934 – December 18, 2022
With great sadness we announce the passing of Hector Darroch on Sunday, December 18, 2022, in Cochrane, Alberta, at the age of 88.
Hector was born in Calgary, Alberta, living there until moving to Cochrane with his wife Mary and their family in 1973. Given his love of helping people, Hector proudly worked for 30 years as a Firefighter with the Calgary Fire Department. He also enjoyed working with cars, spending much of his spare time working in auto body repair. Mostly, he was a wonderful husband and father and he was known for being a great jokester. We remember and miss his great sense of humour.
Hector will be deeply missed by his loving family; his children, Terry Darroch (Phyllis), Char Scott, Cheryl McNeil (Joe), Linda Mol (Johnny), Jim Darroch (Carol), Brad Darroch, Trish VanTienhoven (Joe), and Charla Rose Spencer; and his 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, and sons Robbie and Roger.
At Hector’s request, a private family celebration will take place at a later date.
