Obituary of Darlene Libert
Libert, Darlene Elaine (nee Ellwood)
A resident of Chatham, Darlene Libert (nee Ellwood) passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 78.
She was the daughter of the late Stanley & Gladys (nee Lanoue).
Darlene was lucky enough to have experienced love twice, first with the late Richard Hillman (1978) & secondly with the late Glenn Libert (1997), who she was reunited with exactly 25 years to the date.
Loving mother of Lori Vandusen, Wendy Hamilton (Greg Audette), Richard Hillman (Julie), Kati Ouellette (Gilles), and step children, Darren Libert and Aleisha Libert.
Grandma of Ricky Vandusen, Jamie Lee Robinson (Doug), Spenser Hamilton (Kat), Heather Bennett (Chris), Charisse Ouellette.
GG of Emma Grace Robinson & Liam Hamilton.
Sister of Gary Ellwood (Willa), the late Gail Lloyd, Barbie Demers (Ray), the late Jan Eves, Connie Wrotkowski, the late Randy Ellwood (Catherine), & Mark Ellwood (Annette).
Missed by many nieces, nephews & extended family.
She will be dearly missed by honourary son, Jim Hamilton.
Darlene worked in Housekeeping at the Wheels Inn for over 10 years. She had a special love for her life in Mitchell’s Bay and was at her happiest by the water. Mom’s greatest love was her family and her kids. She will be deeply missed by all.
As per Darlene’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
In memory of Darlene, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
