Darlene Lenore Hunter
1944-2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darlene
Lenore Hunter of Fredericton, NB on June 4, 2022 at Hospice House
Fredericton. Darlene was born on October 27, 1944 in Harvey Station,
the daughter of the late Edgar and Violet (Cleghorn) McCullough.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Allison Hunter; her
son Mark (Lynn), and grandson, the light of her life, Riley; her
siblings, Barb Barrieau (late Edmund), Karen Holt (Jack), Randy
(Jennifer), Rick (Annette) and Errol (Sue); a brother-in-law Keith
Hunter (Donna) as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers Wendell
(late Norma) and Timmy.
“Dee” as she was known to her family, graduated from
Harvey High School and Teachers College in Fredericton. She taught
Elementary School in Woodstock and then Moncton for over 30 years at
Birchmount and Queen Elizabeth Schools. After retirement, Dee and
Allie moved to Harvey Station where they lived at Oromocto Lake,
entertaining family on many special occasions. They lived in
Fredericton for the past three years. Dee always had a sense of style
and fashion and loved home decorating. She always had an interest in
what family and friends were doing in their lives.
In keeping with Dee’s wishes, there will be no visitation or
funeral service.
The family would like to thank the staff at Palliative Care at the
DECH and Hospice House Fredericton for their excellent care and
compassion.
For those who wish to make a donation in her memory, the family
suggests the Harvey Settlement Cemetery or Hospice Fredericton.
