WEICKER, Dana Mae – “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of DANA MAE (HUNTER) WEICKER, at home in Embro ON., on Thursday August 18, 2022.
Beloved wife, for over 47 years, of James E. Weicker. Cherished mother to Jeremy Weicker (Teresa), Jill Van Bommel (Steven), and Stacy Weicker. Adoring Nana to Maisy, Reese, Natalee & Cassidy Weicker and Brett & Seth Van Bommel. Caring sister to Gerald Hunter (Margaret), Diane Wiffen (Doug) and William Hunter. Sister-in-law to Roger Weicker, Wayne Weicker (Nancy), and Mary Ditner (Cletus). She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Dana was predeceased by their son Jonathon Weicker, parents Lloyd & June Hunter and Earl & Margaret Weicker and brother Barry Hunter.
Dana loved her family fiercely and was the glue that held, and will continue to hold, them together. Her love for animals and serving her community, lead to over 38 years with the Tavistock Veterinary Clinic. As a long-standing member of the Hickson United Church, Dana was grounded in her faith. Although she was highly known for her cooking, baking and canning, her giving and caring nature shone through the most. She was always willing to lend a hand, give of herself and go above and beyond for family, friends, and strangers alike. She will be dearly missed by many but the memories will let her live on forever in our hearts.
A private family service will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church.
