After a brief illness, Cynthia Lynne Solimka (nee Johnston), passed away on December 8, 2022.
Cynthia was predeceased by her parents Betty and Bill Johnston. Left to mourn and cherish her memory is her husband Court Solimka. Also left to remember her are family members and dear friends.
Cynthia was born on April 10, 1959. In her younger years she excelled in sports and was a brilliant academic with degrees from the University of Winnipeg and the University of British Columbia. Throughout her life she played guitar, piano and harp and taught music. She was an adept seamstress who created costumes for local plays and theatre productions. She and Court enjoyed the ballet, theatre and sporting events together. Cynthia had a generous spirit, was always kind with her time and was always willing to help a friend.
Cremation has taken place and there will not be a service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
