Suddenly, with broken hearts, the family of Cody David Cook announces his passing on September 5, 2022, at the age of 33. Born in Sarnia on December 12, 1988. Cody was an adoring father to his son Cade David Cook (2 years old) who is the love of his life; being a father was his greatest pride and joy. Cody worked in Sarnia and Regina for local 1256 as a Carpenter. Cody had a heart of gold and would do whatever he could to help anyone of his friends or family. Cody was talented at every sport he ever tried but stayed a lifelong bowler and hockey player. Cody had friends from his many walks of life and if you were Cody’s friend you knew he had your back and would be there for you whenever needed. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his parents Dave Cook and Beth Cook (Steve McLean), his beloved sister Carly Cook, his partner Mirissa Kemmis and her sons, Asher and Kylo, who Cody adored as his own. Cherished uncle to his niece Scarlett Taylor and step- brother to Kyle McLean (Kiersten), Kait Dunn (John), Matt McLean (Stephanie),and Nick McLean. Survived by grandparents Howard Cook, Barbara Hopkins, Celina and Walt VanderHoevn . Predeceased by his grandparents Pearl Cook (1976), John Hopkins (1998), Helen Cook (2022) and cousin Stephanie Stothers (2018). Loved and adored by his many aunts, uncles and cousins; Cathy Banks (Mike), Rachel Hopkins, Rob Hopkins (Linda), Terri-lynn Quaid, Karen Baxter (Steve), Barb Montgomery (Tom), Cathy Landry (Larry), Tyler Banks, Kevin Banks (Sarah), Christopher Hopkins (Caitlyn), Shawna Quaid (Andrew), Mitchell Quaid, Steven Hopkins (Ashlyn), Jami Lajoie (Dylan), Sean Baxter (Ashley), Kyle Montgomery (Elaine), Stacey Montgomery, Paige Bird, Brent Landry (Gretchen), plus all the McLean family aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A memorial funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Donations to be made by cash or cheque to be put towards a trust fund for Cody’s son Cade David Cook (details to come).
