Clyde Dexter Burden
June 5, 1976 – May 29, 2022
Passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Clyde Dexter Burden, at the age of 45 years.
Born in God’s Country (Curling) on June 5, 1976 to parents Clyde Sr. and Minnie Burden.
Clyde was one of the most caring and giving people. If you were in his inner circle, be it a friend or family, you were well taken care of. He always put others first and that made him the happiest. He was a hard worker, rarely ever just working one job. Some say he came out of the womb working two jobs from the start. He knew what he wanted and went for it. It was admirable.
He was a true pet lover. Animals just seem to love him too. He treated his pets as one of the family. They were spoiled, went everywhere with him and the bond was strong. His trusted buddy Mylo was always along for trips to Lomond, in the woods or just a trip to town. He had talents for a good campfire. No matter how much wood you already had, it was never enough. He would say “there are no need for dump runs, lets burn it”.
Clyde loved cooking, and he loved to feed people. He lived for camping, campfires, and a good ol’ boil up. Whether if it was a trip to Camp 52, fishing or a Side by Side trip, he was having a scoff and most likely he was head chef. No matter how many people were at the table there was no worries about leaving hungry. Clyde always had enough food to feed the neighbourhood. He was a big man with a big heart, the truest form of a gentleman.
Clyde lived for camping and being in the woods. If there was a good fishing hole, he knew about it. It might have taken days to get there, but he loved being on the water casting a line. And we all know about his love for the Oilers. He was excited to see them make it so far in the playoffs. I’m sure he is muttering “now don’t screw it up”.
The past 4 years Clyde battled Kidney Disease and he pushed through it, not letting on how sick he truly was. He wouldn’t want anyone fussing or sad over his passing. He would want you to remember the good times: the fishing, camping, darts, the meals, the laughter! There were so many happy memories. Hold them tight!
Clyde is predeceased by his parents Clyde Sr and Minnie Burden. Grand Parents Fred and Julie Burden, Gladys and Harvey Tulk. Uncles Doug Tulk, Milton Tulk and Bryce Burden.
Clyde is survived by his wife Katrina Burden, best bud Mylo. Brother Hedley Burden (Terri), Sister in law Tanya Coade (Tim), Brother in law Richie Snow, Mother and Father-in -Law Richard and Irene Snow. Nieces Irelyn and Mackenzie Coade. Aunts Marjorie Burden, Sylvia Power (Iven), Sandra Tulk, Dale Burden, Uncle Hedley Burden, And many cousins, friends, co-workers, and best friend Marcel Power.

We would like to thank Dr Fudge and Dr Murphy in Corner Brook, and Nurses Sherry and Jenni, you have been with us on this journey. Thank you to the nurses and doctors at the Victoria General Hospital 6B in Halifax, who cared for Clyde during his recent stay.
