Claude was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Florence Bellaire (Minor), and his siblings Colombe , Leda, Pauline, Jane, Phil, Conrad, Don, Robert and Lawrence. He is survived by his sister-in-law Diane (Joe), and was loved by many nieces and nephews.
Claude volunteered for many years with the Mattawa Fire Department eventually attaining the rank of Captain. He also volunteered with the Carousel at the North Bay Waterfront for many years as the Friday night crew lead, and helped out when the movies were being filmed. He owned and operated C. Bellaire Trucking for many years, hauling logs and wood chips for the mill, as well as contracting with the MTO for winter road maintenance. Eventually Claude met Jeannette and they did long haul trucking together for 5 more years before retiring to spend their winters in Florida hanging out with friends and singing karaoke. In recent years his close friend Joe taught him to play the base guitar. Claude, Joe, Diane and Jeannette spent many hours playing and singing their favorite country songs.
As per Claude’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all those involved in Claude’s medical care; Dr. C. Redhead, Dr. Hortevenko and Christine Volpini of Sudbury, the Staff of A3 and CCU at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, Tanya of the Paramedicine group, and Richard and staff from North Shore Pharmacy. Your kindness and support was beyond our expectation. Last but not least, favoured cousin, Oscar Levesque and granddaughter Anne Foisy (nurse) for their support and constant love and support during those last few weeks. For all the phone calls and facetimes from family and friends, no matter how Claude was feeling, you always brought a smile to his face, and joy to his heart. “Je t’aime beaucoup Poppa Claude”.
