Pitcher, Christian Oswald
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Josephine Donna Pitcher (Leadbetter) for over 57 years. Loving father of Jo-Ann Braund (Bill), Christian Pitcher and Janice DelGuidice (Jason). Cherished Bumpa of Cooper Braund, Jaxon DelGuidice, Jorja DelGuidice and Samantha Pitcher. Caring brother of Ben (the late Joan) Pitcher and Winnie (Charles Kirouac). Chris (Oz) is predeceased by his parents Malcolm and Rachel (Smith) Pitcher, his siblings Arch, Luke, Lizzie, Bill, Phyllis, Charlie, Marvi, Lew and one grandchild Lee Braund. Chris will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Chris (Oz) adored his family and loved spending any free time with them. His passions were for dancing and gardening. He danced every day and wherever he was, it didn’t matter, he would break out in dance. His love of gardening never waned and his prized heritage tomato seeds will be passed down to the generations. He was a storyteller and always had some interesting history or stories to share. One of Chris’s proudest achievements was being a member of UA Local 46 Toronto – Plumbers & SteamFitters, for over 65 years. Family and friends are invited to Chris’s Celebration of Life at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St. Barrie, on Saturday March 26, 2022 from 12:30 p.m. till the service in the chapel at 1 o’clock. Everyone is invited to continue sharing stories and memories at the reception in the lower level of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to Seasons Centre for Grieving Children in Barrie would be gratefully appreciated by Chris’s family
