It is with the utmost sadness we share the loss of our Wife, Mom, Sister, Grandma, Great Grandma & Friend. She passed peacefully in Whitehorse, Yukon, in the early morning hours of January 31st, 2022.
Cheryl was born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan. She was the oldest of Bruce & Ila Wards 5 children. She spent her school years in Alameda. She moved to Regina where she met her husband of 52 years, Robert Ashley. They went onto Alberta to start their family. In 1989, the family moved to The Yukon. It was only after a few years in Whitehorse that she and Bob decided the make their final Home in Tagish, Yukon. Many hours, Holidays & Vacations were enjoyed there with her.
She is survived by her Husband Robert (Bob) Ashley, Daughters; Maureen Yaklin (John Anderson), Stacey Ashley (Gilles Archambault), Sons; Robert Ashley, Richard Ashley. grandchildren; Natalya Copes(Rick), Scott Anderson, Lane Yaklin(Dana), Jordan (Torianna),Ila & Hunter Ashley, Mia Archambault, great grandchildren; Sophia, November & Maverick Copes, Abigail Anderson, Charlette & Anastasia Yaklin, Royce & Archer Thomas, sister; Debra (Sam)Main, brother; Bradley(Sharon) Ward, sister-in-laws Maureen Nassiff & Patricia Ashley. As well as many other family & close friends.
Predeceased by her Mother & Father; Bruce and Ila Ward, Sisters Coreen Ward and Cindy Morson, mother in-law Julia Clarke.
Cheryl will be fondly remembered & missed by many, none more so than by her family. Mom, You gave us your smile, strength and ability to love unconditionally. You will live on in our hearts forever.
She was laid to rest by her immediate family, with a beautiful graveside ceremony on February 8th, 2022.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
