It is with deep sorrow that the family of Cheryl Chamberland (Bryson), announce her passing on July 20, 2022 at the age of 76, after a brief illness.
She is survived by her loving husband Mike, her son Matthew Holgate (Wendy), her sisters Valerie (Timothy Morse), Debra (Rick Jackman), and her brothers Jim (Marilyn), Don (Brenda) and John. Also mourning her loss are many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, especially Deborah Kennelly and Karen Gandier.
Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Pat Bryson and her in-laws Laurent and Sylvianne Chamberland.
Born and raised in Sudbury, Cheryl taught at Marymount College and St. Albert’s School of Continuing Education. In her 30 years of teaching, she touched the hearts and lives of her many students with her kindness and dedication to learning.
Cheryl and Mike were avid travellers with a keen sense of exploring and experiencing life in different cultures and areas of the world, making many friends along the way.
Cheryl was a woman of beauty and grace, as well as having impeccable taste and style. Although creating a home that could have graced the cover of any magazine, with her ‘Bryson penchant’ for all critters, there was always room for cats and dogs. The many family gatherings that she and her husband Mike hosted at their home on the French River have left memories that will forever warm our hearts.
Cheryl’s honesty, integrity, compassion, intelligence, beauty and wit, not to mention being the best big sister that five siblings could ever hope for and the most loving wife to her dear husband Mike, being sorely missed, will be treasured in our hearts forever. Love you, Cher!
A special thank you to the wonderful staff in the Daffodil Lodge, especially nurse Joanne who showed such loving compassion in tending to Cheryl.
If desired, donations in Cheryl’s memory can be made to the Samaritan’s Centre, the CNIB, Pet Save, or a charity of your choice.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
