Charlie Blaine (Pap) Anderson – age 83 of Corryton passed into paradise to be with Jesus on Saturday, January 29, 2022. (Luke 23:43) Rejoicing and Praising God and waiting for the Resurrection of his immortal body. (I Thess. 4:14,16,17) And forever be with Jesus and all the Saints. (I Cor. 15:42-44, 50-55) Blaine was an active member of Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church and served in mission fields for many Years. During the 70’s and 80’s Blaine and Deloris did mission work in SD. He served with the Love Kitchen and with Western Heights. His passion was working with the Maasai people of Kenya. In 1998, Blaine began his work with Calvary Road Ministries, which took him to Kenya on many Mission trips. The people of Kenya won his heart and in January 2001, Blaine and Deloris moved to Kenya to serve as missionaries. They lived and served there until December 2003. Blaine continued to serve as long as health allowed him to serve in Kenya making his last trip in 2019.
Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Adra Anderson; and grandparents, Harvey and Barbara Anderson, and Charlie and Sarah Lawson.
Survived by wife, Deloris Lee Anderson; daughter, Tami Rene (Randy) Beckham; son, Christopher “Chris” Anderson; grandchildren, Rachel, Adra, and Sara Anderson; great grandchild, Emilia Thieke; brother-in-law, Argil (Glenda) Vineyard; nephew, Adam (Whitney) Vineyard and daughters, Mackenzie and Addison; and niece, Rachel (Jonathan) Hill.
The family will receive friends 3:00-5:00 PM Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 5:00 PM with Pastor Mark McKeehan, Missionary David Crane, and Rev. David Collins officiating. It was Blaine’s wish for the family to host a meal in the gym for everyone following the service. Family and friends will meet 1:15 PM on Thursday at Bridges Funeral Home and go in procession to Roseberry Cemetery for a 2:00 PM interment. Pallbearers: Thomas Watson, John Griffin, Bill Rives, Randy Beckham, Austin Henry, and Joel Slagle. Honorary Pallbearers: Shannon Washam, Don Anderson, Ray Hodge, Mack Whitehead, Gordon, Cantrell, David Ball, Tommy McBroom, and the Deacons at Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church.
