Obituary
BRATHWAITE-SIMPSON
October 16, 1966 – May 10, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce our beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Charlene Marie Brathwaite-Simpson, passed away suddenly at home in Raymond, AB during the early morning hours of May 10, 2022 at the age of 55.
Charlene will be lovingly missed by her husband, Standy (Checker) Brathwaite; sons Sean (Kristin) Simpson of Fort Erie, ON and Trey Brathwaite of Raymond, AB; parents Hugh and Carol Simpson of Fort Erie, ON; sister Cherie Simpson-Barber of Fort Erie, ON; brother Hugh Jr. (Laura) Simpson of Raymond, AB as well as many nieces and nephews.
Charlene was predeceased by her daughter Felisha Swann (2017).
Charlene was born and raised in Fort Erie, ON and loved figure skating, crocheting, and cooking in the early years of her life. In the last few years, she couldn’t wait until the warm weather came so that she could get outside more often; she loved camping, gardening and enjoying her firepit in her back yard. Her larger-than-life personality followed her wherever she went, whether it was when she was waitressing or walking down the streets of Raymond with her best friend (and son), Trey. You could always count on Charlene for a laugh, which was infectious and could easily be heard before she was seen. Her gift was her ability to bring hope and happiness to others even through a brief meeting or a passing on the street. She was a ray of sunshine that was always looking to help others and give out hugs to any takers. Though she has passed from this life, the light she left will continue to shine on.
Charlene will be deeply missed by all of us who were blessed to know her.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday May 18, 2022 at the TEMPLE HILL CEMETERY, Raymond Alberta.
Friends are welcome to meet with the family from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday May 17, 2022 at SALMON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME.
