It is with great sadness that the family announces
that Cécile Léger, 85, passed away peacefully
Tuesday December 13, 2022, at the Castel des flots bleus in
Cap-Pelé, where she resided for three years. Born in
Shediac, she was the daughter of the late Euclide and Amanda (Doiron)
Léger.
Cécile will be sadly missed by her
children and their families: Marc (Mary-Pat Schutta) of Fredericton;
Suzanne (Martin Ruddy) of Russell, ON; and Nadine (Martin
Lizée) of Montréal, QC; as well as her loving
grandchildren: Danielle (Neil Chambers), Madeleine, Gabriel,
Catherine, Stella, and Sophie.
One of Cécile’s great pleasures
was spending time where she grew up, at the family homestead in
Boudreau-Ouest. It is there she would often host gatherings with her
children, their spouses, grandchildren, extended family, and, in
better health, with her friends.
Cécile fought a long and courageous battle
with COPD, which severely impacted her health and mobility in her
later years. The family particularly wishes to thank her
sister-in-law, Claudette (Léger) Fontaine, her many close
friends, nieces, and nephews, who supported her and brought her much
joy. We are also grateful for the many care providers who looked after
her over the years. She is also survived by a sister, Rose
LeBlanc.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard
Léger, in 2006 and three of her four sisters: Simone,
Germaine, and Jeannine.
In respect of Cécile’s wishes,
there will be no visitation. She will be interned in the Saint Joseph
Catholic cemetery in Shediac at a later
date.
Funeral
arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, Shediac.
