Catherine Kaye Shaw 1948 2022 avis de deces

Shaw, Catherine “Kaye” (Nock)
– Baddeck It is with great sadness
that we announce the peaceful passing of Catherine “Kaye”
Shaw, age 73, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the Alderwood Guest Home,
Baddeck, surrounded by her family.
Kaye was born October 8, 1948 in Inverness and the youngest
daughter to the late William and Katherine (MacLean) Nock.
Kaye was a wonderful wife, loving mom, The Best Nana, caring sister
and aunt and great friend to all that knew her. She was a
member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Whycocomagh and a
long-time member of the Baddeck Volunteer Fire Department Ladies
Auxiliary.
Kaye is survived by her three children, Jacqueline Nock,
Baddeck, Doreen (Lee) Norman, Baddeck and Margo (Kevin) MacKenzie,
Bucklaw. She was Nana to Daniel, Andrew, and Katelyn Norman
and Colton, Blaze, Dalton and Baylee MacKenzie who all thought the
world of her and she was so very proud of each of them, sure to tell
all she met of her wonderful grandchildren. She is also
survived by sister Emily (Morrison) MacKay, Whycocomagh, and brothers
Billy Nock, Baddeck and Winston (Jean) Nock, Baddeck, in laws Rhyburn
(Debby) Shaw, Kenny (Gwynn) Shaw and Jamie (Charlene) Shaw.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Dan N
“Bubby”, granddaughters Katrina and Brieanna, her mother and
father-in-law Alex and Mary Shaw, sisters Peggy (Sam) Pearo, Florrie
(Peter Alex) Ferguson, Irene (Malcolm) MacPherson, Dena (D.H.)
MacKinnon, Shirley (Allie) Rouse and brothers Sandy (Tena) Nock and
Jackie Nock, sister-in-law, Catherine (Angus) Smith.
Mom worked as a care giver in the “old” Alderwood,
playground supervisor at Baddeck Academy who always had a line of kids
that wanted to hold her hand at recess and lunch breaks and finally in
the laundry department of the Silver Dart Lodge and MacNeil House
where she spent many, many years making life long friendships she
cherished. Anyone that came to the house, was always greeted by
“good to see you, here’s a cup of tea and a bite to
eat”. She would never say good bye, only see you later
and love you.
We would like to especially thank the staff of the Alderwood
Guest Home and Dr. Ritter and his palliative care team. From
the moment Mom entered the doors she was welcomed into the Alderwood
family. Through her illness, they gave her exceptional care
and words will never express our deepest
appreciation.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on
Sunday, May 22, 2022 in the Stewartdale Cemetery, Stewartdale with
Margie MacIntyre LLWL officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Alderwood Memorial Fund or a charity
of your choice.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Words of comfort may be
forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
“We love you mom, to the moon and
back”.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Catherine Kaye Shaw 1948 2022..
