Cathy will always be remembered for her commitment and devotion to her family and especially the joy she displayed for her four grandchildren.
Cathy is predeceased by her mother, Marina Best; her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Colbert; her father-in-law, James Colbert.
Cathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Barry; her daughters: Stephanie (Gerry), and Amanda (Terry); son Andrew (Susan). Cathy’s grandchildren, her pride and joy: Caffrey, Callen, Quinn and Cara will always remember their Nana Cathy.

Cathy came to live in Mount Pearl with her parents and siblings in 1968. She attended Mary Queen of the World School and Beaconsfield High School. Cathy and her father operated a convenience store on First Street in Mount Pearl for 41 years. While Dad was the “official” operator, Cathy was the face to the store. In later years, the business was known as Needs, First Street. Cathy loved the family store and especially her interactions with the customers she felt were like her family.
The family wish to extend sincere thanks to DR. Dave Brentnall for his medical care and assistance during these difficult days. Also, we wish to thank the First Responders and Royal Newfoundland Constabulary for their professionalism and compassion at the most difficult time in our lives.
