Cary Layne Kuchinka 2022

Cary Layne Kuchinka, aged 80 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Wednesday, August 31st, 2022. Cary was born on July 20th, 1942 at Haultin Nursing Home in Midale, SK. He started school in 1948 at Macoun School and graduated in 1960. Cary excelled in academics and was an active participant in school activities while upholding his responsibilities back home on the farm. He graduated from the College of Engineering Physics at The University of Saskatchewan in 1964. Cary commenced his working career at The Saskatchewan Research Council until 1988. He then went on to open Sangsters Health Food Store in Saskatoon, SK. After selling the store, he moved to Moose Jaw in 1999 where he retired. Cary enjoyed gardening, was a lover of books, and was knowledgeable in many topics in which he was always happy to engage in conversation with anyone who was willing to listen.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Steven Kuchinka. Cary will be greatly missed by his children: Mark Kuchinka (Tracey), Erica Smart (Andrew) and Karl Kuchinka; grandchildren: Christine (Dustin), Alex, Josephine (Adam), Sabra and Lily; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Brielle; brother, Ron Kuchinka (Janet); as well as many nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Macoun Cemetery at Macoun, Saskatchewan. A time of fellowship will follow in the Macoun Evangelical Church Hall. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Cary’s name may be made to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan, 200-4545 Parliament Ave, Regina, SK S4W 0G3.
