Obituary of Carolyn Emma King
KING, Carolyn Emma- Age 91 of Halifax- It is with great sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of our loving mother Carolyn Emma King on August 29, 2022. Born in River de Chute, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Charlotte (Straight) Bishop. Carolyn lived in Chatham, NB, Woodstock, NB, St. John, NB and Halifax, NS. She was a long-time employee of Sears Canada, working in their credit office. She loved playing cards with family, baking for the United Church and especially spending quality time with her loving family, she enjoyed spending her time with her son and daughter-in-law. She had an outgoing personality and was known for her wit and humour to many friends. Carolyn was a big cat lover and loved her feline friend Willow Carolyn leaves behind to mourn her son, Samuel King (Wendy Reid King), NH; sister, Beatrice Terlecki, Toronto; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law in Canada and USA. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Bert King; brothers, Archie Bishop, Donald Bishop and Cameron Bishop; sister, Marie Browning. The family would like to thank the kindness and generosity of her many neighbours for their love and support especially during the COVID epidemic. Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road. In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes there will be no visitation. A funeral service will take place Tuesday September 6, 2022 at 1p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made in her name to Ivany Place, Northwood Bedford campus. To place online condolences please visit www.walkerfh.com
