Obituary of Carol Rose Peterson
On July 18, 2022, Carol Rose Peterson (nee Leadbetter), in her 85th year, passed away peacefully at home with her husband Don and son Steve by her side. Carol knew the true value of family and created a home of love for her children: Jeff (Christine), Steve (Cindy) and Caroline (Greg). She was the devoted and proud Grandma to Will (Liz), Megan (Bryan), Jack, Charlie, Maude, Emily (Jared) and Great-Grandma to Allison, Elsie, Olivia and Wesley.
Carol is remembered for her eternal optimism and belief in the good of each person. A life long volunteer, she transcribed books into braille for the CNIB, was a lay minister in the Anglican Church and supported many who were living with cancer through the Canadian Cancer Society. Carol worked as a yoga instructor and therapist where she shared her gift of yoga with groups and individuals. Carol and Don, during their 63 years of marriage, moved house 20 times where Carol would find community in each new place.
Carol will be missed by her siblings, Shirley Reesor and Bill Leadbetter (Gayle), in-laws, Murial Leadbetter, Russ Weeks, Barbara Hanna and Ralph Peterson (Judi). Her numerous nieces and nephews will miss their beloved aunt Carol.
She is predeceased by her siblings Florence Weeks, Charles Leadbetter and Mary McArthur, in-laws Bill McArthur, Robert Reesor and Harry Hanna. Proudly from Markham Ontario and daughter of John Charles Leadbetter and Caroline Rebecca White.
The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage River, Elora for their compassionate support during these final months.
Funeral arrangements will be confirmed over the next week, so please refer back to this announcement for further information. Donations can be made to Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB).
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Carol
