Carmelita Rayna Grace McKay was born on August 4, 1992, in Nipawin Union Hospital SK, to Morris and Priscilla McKay. Carmelita received her education at JWHMEC high school and completed her Grade 12 on June 2010 along with her cousins Gertie M, Jolene H, Olive WH, Clinton U and Marius M.
Carmelita’s favorite hobbies were playing volleyball, slo-pitch and horseshoes with family at the squareville. She also loved playing cribbage and Yahtzee with her family and friends. Carmelita adopted Pristina, Oslee and Oscar as her own. She would call Oscar “My little man”. Carmelita also loved to spend time with her family from both her mom’s and dad’s side of the family. Most of all she loved to spend time with her parents and siblings; especially family birthdays and holidays gatherings. She would always laugh at small things that her family did and/or said. Her favorite saying was, “I’m Carmelita Juice and I like to collect butterflies”.
Carmelita was diagnosed with kidney disease in May 2019, she started going to her dialysis treatment 3 times a week. On the morning of April 1st, 2022, she received a call from Transplant Coordinator that there was a kidney for her. She called her parents about the good news. The family was so happy for her and Carmelita started making plans for the future once she recovered from the transplant.
