Carmela Salomone
With tears and broken hearts, surrounded by her family we sadly said goodbye to our beautiful Carmelina at Victoria Hospital on Monday, November 14, 2022. She was only 53 years of age.
Carmela was the loving wife of Nick for 20 years and devoted and proud mother of Anthony and Emily which were her life. Cherished daughter-in-law to Emilia and Antonio Salomone. Predeceased by her parents Franca and Salvatore Andaloro, brother Santo and niece Jaden Zeledon. Cherished sister to Maria Raffa (Santino) and Daniela Zeledon (Silvio). Loving aunt to Vanessa (Mike), Marc (Megan), Vienna and Joaquin. Great aunt to Mikaila, Olivia, and Lia. Niece to Zio Sal and Zia Pina Zullo and special cousin to the late Lina Zullo and Tricia Dicola (Marco) and their children Sydney and Kennedy. Carm will be missed by a large extended family and many, many friends in London, Sault Ste. Marie, Italy, and Australia.
At the request of Carmelina and Nick there will be no visitation and a private, immediate family funeral will be held. A Celebration Of Life in Carm’s honour will take place in May of next year.
The family would like to thank all of the health care workers who took care of Carm over the last three and a half years. A very special thank you to Dr. Stephen Welch and his team for his care and support over the years and to Dr. Akira Sugimoto for his caring visit and kind words.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Ovarian Cancer Canada in Carmelina’s honour and to help find a cure for this devastating disease. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for all of the kind messages and words received from countless family and friends. Carm fought her illness with strength, dignity and grace and will be missed every day. She will be forever in our hearts.
