Carlos’ Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Papa at home after a long battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Aura Marina for 47 years; loving father of Carlos (Natalia), Edgar (Haneen), Francisco (Roxana), Gladys Flores-Buesink (Josh), and Celia Flores-Shiba (Isho). Proud grandfather to Brayden, Aztecca, Nubeah, Amadeus, Arianna, Nayelli, Lucia, Marina, John, Noah, Cristian, Mila, and Isaac. Also survived and loved by his big sisters Elizabeth, Gladys, Celia, Mildred, and Sandra, and many nieces and nephews. He is reunited with his father Carlos, his mother Victoria, his big brothers Guillermo, and Alfredo, sister-in-law Maria, brothers-in-law Lorenzo, Luciano, and Fernando.
Carlos was a man of pride, intellect, humour, and great love for his family. Born in Guatemala Carlos came to Canada in 1988 for a better life for his children. In building a life here he overcame many obstacles and served as an example of resilience, strength, and patience to his family. We love you and will miss you forever Papa.
Special thanks to his physicians Dr. Tsoi, Dr. Wu, and their teams, Bayshore Palliative Care team, the staff at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Paracentesis Outpatient Clinic, and his dear friends at St. Joseph’s Villa for all their care and support.
