Obituary
On Friday March 4th, the world was dimmed because we have lost one of God’s shining lights. Candy passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Candy is the cherished daughter of Clara and of the late Gordan Sharpe. Beloved wife of Dave Hamm. Loving mother of Jennifer (Scott), Brandy (Jason-predeceased) and David (Erica). Doting Nanny to Jonathan, Nikolas, Cameron, Savannah and Molly. Dear sister to Doug (predeceased), Lori (Mike), Darrell (Ken), David, Ken (Arlane),Bob (Debbie) and Sherry (Max). Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Candy will always be remembered as a kind big hearted honest person who made those who knew her better people. She was a very hardworking, loving woman who would often place others needs ahead of her own.
A memory that is widely cherished by her children and her many nieces and nephews was camping at lake Newell. The memories that were made there will forever be in our hearts. Some of these memories are scavenger hunts created by Candy and Arlane to synchronized swimming contests, to turning up the radio loud and having a concert for all the adults. Don’t Take the Girl, Achy Breaky Heart and Chattahoochee will forever be tied to the memory of those summers at camp.
Candy’s food was out of this world. The love, care and attention that she put in her food made it irresistible. One of the most cherished gifts you could get from Candy is your choice of a birthday supper. Or some of her delicious peanut brittle, fudge or much loved “cinnamon bow ties”.
There is so much to say about Candy that can’t be said in one simple obituary. If we had to break it down Candy was full of life. The love that she gave her family was endless. Her family meant the world to her. Nothing pleased her more than a house full of love and laughter. She was tenacious and would never give up. Being around her made you want to be a better person. She took pride in her work and nothing satisfied her more than a job well done. She was a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a rockin nanny, an auntie, a friend, and a confidant. The world was better with her in it.
Candy, we love you more than words could ever tell. A piece of our heart will forever be missing. Your love was unconditional and your hugs could cure all. There will not be a day that goes by that we will not miss you. However, you taught us to never give up and to keep fighting and that is exactly what we will do. We love you with all our hearts always and forever. Our loss is heaven’s gain.
There will be no memorial service at this time. A celebration of life with be held at a later date.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Candy Hamm April 15 1955 March 4 2022 (age 66)..
