Newby– Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Trillium Villa Nursing Home, Sarnia on Sunday October 16, 2022. Byron Albert Newby, age 81 years of Corunna. Loving husband of 38 years to Marlene. Much loved father of Jim Russell and his wife Christine of B.C., Selena Fraser and her husband Mark, Brad Newby and Maxine Dabanovich and her husband Don all of Corunna. Treasured grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Byron is survived by 5 sisters, 1 brother and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by; his first wife, Marjorie (1980); his son, Byron “Barney” Newby (2018) and by 2 sisters and a brother. Special thanks is extended to the entire Trillium Villa family for the care and compassion shown to Byron and his family during his time there. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Wednesday October 19, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. where a funeral service will be held on Thursday October 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gabrielle Heidinger officiating. Interment will follow in Hillsdale Cemetery, Petrolia. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society.
