With broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved partner, father, stepfather, grumpa, brother, uncle and friend, Brian Patrick Murphy, age 67, who died in the company of his family at the Dr. L. A. Miller Centre on Saturday, September 3, 2022.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories his spouse Linda Kavanagh, son Shawn Murphy, stepson Ryan Kavanagh, stepdaughter Tanya (Michael) Butler, granddaughters Erin and Abbey Butler. Sisters Pat (Reg) Puddester, Ann Marie (Jimmy) Williams, Joan (Mark) Dent, Peggy (Brian) Head, Allison (Rick) Winsor; brothers Ronnie (Uriel), Pat (Leslie) and Adam. Numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Predeceased by his parents Brian and Margaret Murphy of Bay Bulls and brother-in-law Randy Hunt. He also leaves behind a large circle of extended family and friends.
Brian battled multiple health issues throughout his lifetime and faced them all with strength, courage and a wicked sense of humour. He loved golfing with his buddies, Paul, Noel and Bill and would never miss his daily drive-thru trips to Tim Horton’s to get his favourite double-double. Despite having retired from Island Furniture years ago, Brian was often recognized by former customers and delighted in reconnecting. Brian was a kind and generous person and will be sadly missed. He had a great love for his family. We continue to appreciate everyone who knew Brian and thanks to all friends and family who reached out during his illness.
Cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road, on September 15th, 2022 from 12noon – 9p.m. Mass of Christian burial from Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bay Bulls at 10:00 am on September 16th, 2022, with interment to follow at Mount Loretta Cemetery, Bay Bulls.
The family is kindly requesting masks be worn for the visitation and funeral service.
