Brian Kent Matheson, of Richmond, B.C., died on July 1, 2022 in Vancouver General Hospital at the age of 59. He was found in his home June 29, 2022 having suffered a stroke and never regained consciousness. Brian was born on January 17, 1963 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He attended University Hill Secondary School and Langara College in Vancouver, BC. Brian chose his own path in life. He worked as an IT contractor. He volunteered at the Maritime Museum and was an active member of Linux Link, Free Geek and the Vancouver Linux Users Group (VanLUG).
Brian was predeceased by his mother, Joyce Matheson. He is survived by his father, Don Matheson of Vancouver, B.C., his brothers and sisters, Mavis (Adam), Glenn (Sharon) Laurie, Robert (Joanne), Elaine (David), and his many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held Tuesday July 19 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in the meeting room at Surrey Libraries Guildford Branch: 15105 105 Ave, Surrey, BC.
