Bonnie Hartley 2022 avis de deces

Bonnie Hartley passed away on May 19, 2022 in Toronto, Ontario at the age of 80 unexpectedly at home. Born on February 7, 1942 to James and Dorothy Hartley, Bonnie was predeceased by her sister Donna Lynn Watts (Kenneth Mark Watts) and is survived by her sister Kathryn Ann Watts (Donald Wayne Watts), nieces and nephews John Andrew Watts, Melanie Kristina Jewell (Michael Jewell), Margaret Ann Mckeracher (Reiley McKeracher), and Jonathon Robert (Rob) Watts (Laura Watts), as well as many other family and friends who loved her and will miss her. Bonnie is a graduate of the Kingston General Hospital School of Nursing (1963), and was granted a Bachelor of Nursing Science from Queen’s University in 1964. A lifetime learner she also completed a Master of Science in Nursing at Western University in 1977 and attained a Master of Religious Education from the University of Toronto in 1999. Bonnie spent many years in the nursing profession including time as a CUSO International volunteer in India. After a health incident she returned to Canada and joined the faculty of Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) where she taught for many years until her early retirement, training countless young nurses, many of whom became lifelong friends. Bonnie was dedicated to her community and supported many charities through volunteering work and financial generosity. She also worked tirelessly with her church family at Blythwood Road Baptist Church in many capacities over the years. Bonnie was a strong woman of faith and believed deeply in the power of prayer. She exhibited her love for Christ through her strong ministry of reaching out to old and new friends and keeping connections strong through phone calls, emails and cards. On any given day she could be found speaking with a friend while a cat curled up in her lap, preparing a meal to share in her home, or baking for outreach programs. During her retirement she became an amateur historian and spent many hours researching her family, including her beloved father with whom she had limited time due to his sacrifice during the second world war. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Memorial service to be held on June 4, 2022 at 1pm at Blythwood Road Baptist Church, no reception to follow. Masks requested. If desired, donations may be made to Matthew House www.matthewhouse.ca) or CNIB (www.cnib.ca).

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Bonnie Hartley 2022..
