Obituary of Billie Taggart
Taggart, Billie J. of Aylmer passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 6, 2022 in his 95th year. Beloved husband of Ferne (Picknell) Taggart. Dear father of Kelly Hyatt(Paul), Scott Taggart, Patricia O’Connor(Leon) and father-in-law of Karen Taggart. Loving poppa of Emma(Eoghan), Paige(Grant), Abigail, Kelli(Harry), Colleen, Courtney, Matthew, Lauren and Grant. Proud great-grandfather of Ronan, Naomi, Katie, Nolan and Theoren. Brother-in-law of Robert Picknell(Evelyn) of Otterville. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Ronald Taggart, brother Jack Taggart, sister Maxine Walton and a brother-in-law Richard Picknell. Born in Leamington, Ontario on November 2, 1928, son of the late Alvin and Mabel (Gillanders) Taggart. Bill worked in the Leaf Department for Imperial Tobacco for many years. He was a member of the Aylmer Curling Club, Belmont Golf Club, Delhi Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, Aylmer and Tillsonburg Shrine Clubs. Bill was an accomplished baseball player and played for the Delhi Tobaccomen in the 1950’s. Bill remained active in retirement and enjoyed the fellowship and camaraderie of his fellow Shriners, golfers and curlers. Visitation at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. where the funeral and masonic service will follow at 3:30 p.m. Cremation-interment, Aylmer Cemetery. Donations to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation or the Corner Cupboard Food Bank (EECAP) would be appreciated.
