Obituary of Berthe Therese Peloquin
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Mom, Berthe Peloquin (née Giasson).
Mom passed away peacefully on March 28, 2022, at Ste. Anne Hospital at the age of 80, after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honour her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Mom was a strong, independent woman with a devout faith.
Left to mourn her passing are her three daughters; Yvette (Paul), Doris, Rita, her grandkids; Jocelyne, Miguel, Nicholas, Karrisa, Darienne, Brielle, Valerie, Cedric, her siblings; Louise, Alice, Marie, Omer (Shirley), Irene (Marcel), Noella (Armand), her brother-in-law Emile (Doreen) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom is previously deceased by her parents Joseph and Cecile, her loving husband Albert, her sister, Clara (Johnny) her in-laws, Antoine, Lucien, Julien, Walter, Denis (Eveline).
Mom was raised in Delmas, SK. where she was known as a bit of a tomboy. She then moved to St. Malo, MB at the age of 18 where she eventually met her future husband Albert in the neighbouring town of St. Pierre Jolys. Mom raised the three of us while running a home daycare and once we grew up worked at Foyer Valade before retiring.
Mom was known for her mischievous nature, her love for adventure and her resourcefulness.
It was not out of place to see her building a fence, fixing a vacuum cleaner, giving a potato to each son-in-law as a gag gift in the Xmas stocking, or to join in with her grandkids and zipline in her late 60’s. Mom really enjoyed her camping/fishing trips, her soap operas and loved to just get up and go on a spontaneous road trip.
We would like to thank the staff at both the Steinbach Bethesda Hospital and the Ste. Anne Hospital for caring for Mom this past month.
Cremation has taken place and the memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Paroisse St. Malo Parish, St. Malo, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Berthe
