It is with great sadness that the family of the late BERTHA IRENE CLUETT of Garnish, NL, announces her passing. Bertha passed away at the U. S. Memorial Health Care Centre, St. Lawrence, NL, on Friday, January 14th, 2022 at the age of 79.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband Ernest, parents Frank and Laura Bennett, brother Ted, and sisters Yvonne, Ruby, Patsy, and May.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sons, Roger (Michelle), Garnish, Eric (Angela), St. John’s, Ernest (Roxanne), Mount Pearl, daughters Joan Cribb (Ron), Garnish, Carol Lambert (Bruce), Burin; brother Levi Bennett (Marion), Salt Pond: 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The Cluett Family will accept visitors at Peninsula Funeral Home in Creston South. In order to maintain social distancing and to follow the public health advisory of COVID 19, Alert Level 4, a walk through visitation with each household bubble will take place on Saturday, January 15th, from 2 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm. Proof of vaccination is required. A private funeral service will be held at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South on Sunday, January 16th, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at the St. Giles Anglican Church Cemetery in Garnish.
As per COVID – 19 regulations, everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the building and masks are required. Please note that there is no food permitted in the building.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations, in Bertha’s memory, may be made to St. Giles Anglican Church Cemetery Fund or the United Church Cemetery Fund in Garnish.
