Bernice Melanson, 87,
of Shediac and formerly of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Tuesday
September 20, 2022, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC. Born in
Barachois, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Marie
(Babineau) Boudreau.
Prior to her
retirement, Bernice worked for Edmond Gagnon and Landry Landry as a
supervisor in quality control.
She will be sadly
missed by her children: Rachelle Léger (Roger) of
Trois-Ruisseaux, Sylvie Robichaud (Mathieu) of Grand Barachois,
Jean-Guy (Monette) of Memramcook, Daniel (Charline) of
Haute-Aboujagane, Victor (Carole) of Cap-Pelé and Gilles
(Joanne) of Ste-Marie-de-Kent; 9 siblings: Simonne LeBlanc, Stella
Guérin (Jean-Loup), Beatrice Bourque (George),
Andréa Boudreau, Roméo (Marie Jeanne), Louise
Dupuis (Jean-Paul) all of Shediac, Normand (Évelyne) of
Riverview, Jeanne Gagnon of Dupuis Corner and Rose Rockwell (Gerry) of
Halifax, NS; one sister in-law, Simonne of Petit-Cap; 11
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces
and nephews.
Besides her parents,
she was predeceased by her husband, Cliff; a son, Marcel; two sisters:
Gloria Léger and Lorraine Boudreau; one brother, Alfred;
two infant brothers: Donald and Ronald.
The family will
receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642,
Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Monday September 26
from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9 pm only. The
funeral mass will be celebrated at
Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R.C. Church, 2648,
Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé, on Tuesday September 27 at 10:30
am. The funeral will be recorded, and the video will be
available on Bernice’s obituary on our
website www.frenettefuneralhome.com at
the end of the day. Interment will be in the parish
cemetery.
